Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government is understood to have decided to implement the recommendations of the Tenth Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for its employees from Sankranti. But what is causing worry for the government is the huge financial burden on the exchequer. In order to find a way out and to be in a win-win situation, the government has constituted a Group of Ministers to hold negotiations with the associations of the government employees on the recommendations of the PRC.

The GoM consists of Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Health and Medical Education Minister Kamineni Srinivas and IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy are the members of the panel. Finance department Principal Secretary is the convener of the panel.

The panel would negotiate with the Associations of government employees for the implementation of the 10th Pay Revision Commission (PRC). The employees' associations are demanding hike of 45 per cent by way of fitment by merging basic pay with dearness allowance, the tenth PRC reportedly recommended a hike of nearly 34 per cent in salaries of State government employees in both the States.

The AP employees say that the TS government was also in favour of 45 per cent fitment and hence the AP should also give equal benefits to its employees. The Tenth Pay Revision Commission headed by P K Agarwal was constituted by the erstwhile government led by N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the United AP in 2013. Agarwal had submitted a 2,000-page PRC report to Governor ESL Narasimhan on June 1.

In its report, the Commission reportedly recommended two-year maximum maternity leave for women employees. It also suggested a hike in minimum salary from Rs 6,700 to Rs 13,000 for contract and outsourcing employees.
