Srikakulam: A special vigil has been put on cyber crime offenders in the State, said Director General of Police JV Ramudu, on his first visit to the Srikakulam district after taking charge as DGP. He was addressing the media at SP office here on Tuesday.

Mr. Ramudu said that he visited Srikakulam to know about the law and order conditions in the district. “I agree that the state bifurcation was done in haste and the capital went to Telangana. There are no offices for Andhra Pradesh and there is a need to build the capital along with all other government offices. Police administration is searching for the space to construct the new buildings”, he added.

He said that the foreigners who were entering the state through the sea route were being nabbed and interrogated. Later, they were being sent to their own countries. In the past two to three months about 70 persons were sent back.

Vigil was intensified on the gangs circulating counterfeit notes. To curb the red sanders smuggling the Government has formed a special task force which will soon come into effect.

Orders were passed to all the police stations for imposing strict vigil over the activities of rowdy sheeters. If any person is accused in more than two cases, rowdy sheets were being opened. “Rowdy sheeters are now supposed to visit the police station once in every 15 days and sign the register. The new conditions will bring changes in them”, he added.

Mr. Ramudu inaugurated the Police Barrack building constructed at AR Police quarters in Etcherla. He also visited Arasavalli temple and offered prayers.
