Nandyal civic body meet peaceful

Nandyal (Kurnool): The Municipal meeting concluded peacefully amidst tight security here on Tuesday. The meeting gained importance as Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagireddy was attending the meeting, against whom and also on his followers, a rowdy sheet was opened after the clashes between Telugu Desam and YSR Congress parties at the municipal meeting held on October 31.

Heated discussions were held on the agenda and the problems prevailing in the wards and finally all bills were sanctioned in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bhuma Nagireddy requested all the members to strive for the town development and to solve the three main problems faced by the public. Stating that an unwanted and unexpected incident took place on October 31, he suggested Municipal Chairman and councilors to forget that incident and strive for town development.

The MLA suggested TDP councilors to develop their respective wards with mutual cooperation. He assured the public of solving all their major problems irrespective of political parties.

Municipal Chairperson Sulochana assured the general body of the municipality to develop the Nandyal town with the cooperation of all the members. She suggested that important problems should be discusses instead of wasting time on trivial issues.

Councilors, cooption members, municipal officials and staff and others participated in the meeting.

DSP Sunpreet Singh arranged tight security at the Municipal office here to avoid any untoward incidents. CI Ramanaidu continuously monitored the main entrance till the meeting was concluded.

Journalists stage dharna
Alleging negligence in allotting seats in the meeting, reporters of both electronic and print media staged dharna at the Municipal Officer here on Tuesday. In-charge Commissioner Satyanarayana assured them that special facilities would be provided for them. He allotted seats on the left side in the meeting hall. The scribes withdrew their dharna.
