Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu electronically launched Skill Development Centre (SDC) at Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women (SVECW), Bhimavaram, from Vijayawada on Monday.

Bhimavaram (West Godavari): Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu electronically launched Skill Development Centre (SDC) at Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women (SVECW), Bhimavaram, from Vijayawada on Monday. SVECW is one of the 17 SDCs opened across the State.

The State government has set up Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation to impart employable skills among the youth in the State. Prof Ganta Subba Rao is the CEO of the organisation.

It may be noted that SVECW was selected as District Training Centre (Nodal Centre) for imparting skills among the students of West Godavari district. Thirty five students from six engineering colleges in the district underwent training in mobile apps development training at the college from January 5 to 19. Experts, from software giant, Microsoft imparted skills to the students through online methods and coordinators of Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation assisted the students.

The students who underwent training at the college exhibited their apps in the presence of Chief Minister in the programme held at Vijayawada on the day.

The Students developed 21 mobile apps like Swachh Bharat, driving, Royal Andhra Pradesh, anti-corruption, get my job and location sensor.

The SDC coordinator Prof P Venkatrama Raju said that the training would be imparted as per the directives of State government.
