Dr Devi informed The Hans India on Saturday that the boy who was suffering from fever and vomiting in the last 20 days, was brought to the KGH in a critical stage late Thursday night after being treated in private hospitals and the boy died on Friday morning. She said that the boy was also suffering from heart ailment.

A seven-year-old girl from Pendurti suffering from fever and cough was also being treated in the KGH. The swab collected from her was also sent for testing. The nodal officer informed that a six-bed special ward was set up in KGH exclusively for pregnant women and children, a 10-bed ward in the Government Chest Hospital for adults and a four-bed ward in Government Area Hospital, Anakapalli.
