Why Chandrababu Naidu Feels Like a Foreigner in Hyderabad?. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu\'s outburst in Vijayawada saying he felt like ruling from a foreign land in Hyderabad has earned more brick bats than kudos.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's outburst in Vijayawada saying he felt like ruling from a foreign land in Hyderabad has earned more brick bats than kudos. Chandrababu announced in Vijayawada on Tuesday that he would henceforth stay in Vijayawada for three to four days and also that a mini assembly and irrigation department would be set up in Vijayawada till all the permanent infrastructure is readied in the new capital region.

Naidu's remarks has angered the Telangana and TRS leadership. "First YSR had raised the bogie of Visa for coming to Hyderabad, Now Chandrababu Naidu says he feels an alien in Hyderabad. Who wants him here in Hyderabad any way?" asked K Kavitha, Nizamabad MP and a prominent member of TRS hierarchy. Chandrababu is just day dreaming to assume power in Telangana as well she said at the TRS Bhavan on Wednesday and demanded an unconditional apology from the TDP chief for his comments on ' foreign base ' rule in Hyderabad.

History shows that bifurcation of geographical lines would not just complete the division process of the states. Take Punjab and Haryana, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh, and Uttarchanal. Most of these states took more than three to four years. Unlike Hyderabad as joint capital, most of them after division started functioning from separate towns. Even after six years, Chattisgarh is still demanding funds from the centre for developing its new capital Raipur.

Practically, it appears that wisdom has dawned upon Chandrababu and his aides at the fallacy of functioning 250 kms away from their state boundaries. The Centre has granted Rs.5000 crore in the budget to set up a capital and also to facilitate functioning of the new government. But Till the elections ( i.e five months since the passage of the AP reorganization Act, 2014) the TDP was confident that it would get the edge in Telangana and gain the balance of power in both the states in the vote split between TRS, Congress and the YSRC. But every one knows that in heart of hearts Chandrababu believes that he alone had brought fame and prosperity to Hyderabad by promoting IT sector.

But the truth is that the then BJP led NDA had used Chandrababu and AP as guinea pigs and scape goats to introduce economic reforms, administrative reforms, new IT sector etc as they could not experiment all those in the Hindi belt. No doubt, Chandrababu had gambled but any failure would have been disaster to not just him but to the state as well.
