Hyderabad: Senior news reader, K Veerabhadra Rao, popularly known as Badri and his younger son died in a road accident on Sunday morning while his elder son and wife were seriously injured.

The accident occurred near Lakshmi Nagar of Dwaraka Tirumala mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday. According to police, a car tyre burst is suspected to have caused the accident. But another source said that the car lost control when it tried to avoid a cyclist. The family was proceeding to their home town in West Godavari after visiting the Dwaraka Tirumala temple when the accident occurred. The injured were first taken to a hospital at Eluru and then shifted to Vijayawada.

Badri, 38, was a popular face on Telugu news channel TV9.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, leaders of all political parties in both the States and the entire media fraternity expressed deep shock over death of Badri.
