This may not augur well with the religious minded that there was a delay of over 15-20 minutes in the Suprabata seva conducted at the Srivari Temple at Tirumala without a break or change of timing since centuries. And especially it does not a happy begining for the Indo-Srilankan ties in the wake of the delay in Suprabata seva for which the Srilankan President Maithripala Sirisena was to be present today .

Reports from Tirumala show that the age old locks of the Vendi Vakili (golden doors) of the Ananda Nilayam of Srivari Temple could not be opened and finally the padlock of the huge door had to be opened with gas cutters .

JEO Sri k S Srinivasa Raju said there was no hindrance to the Srilanka President and his spouse jayanti visit to Temple during Suprabata seva.
