Kadapa: The Congress party organised a demonstration here on Sunday alleging ‘injustice’ to Andhra Pradesh both in the Railway and the Union budgets. The party activists burnt the effigies of Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu (Railways) and Arun Jaitley (Finance) at the Seven Roads Crossing.

Addressing the demonstrators, Kadapa district INTUC president Sattar accused the BJP leadership of ignoring the assurances given to the State at the time of its bifurcation. He claimed that there was no chance of meeting the State needs with the proposals made in the Railway and Union budgets.

Sattar alleged that the Centre was neglecting the assurances like according special status to Andhra Pradesh and assistance to irrigation projects. He said had the State government exerted pressure on the Centre earlier the result would have been different. The INTUC leader urged the State government to take along all parties for pressing the Centre to meet its needs.
