Budget session of Andhra Pradesh assembly is some sort of maturity on the part of opposition leader Y.S.Jagan who did some home work this time on budget numbers and made the ruling party to get alert on understanding their numbers and support them with necessary arguments. TDP leaders faces often gone blank and tried to distort the attention of the house from the serious comments of YS Jagan.
Jagan scored good points when he is picking ruling party on its economic survey about the purchase of only 13 lakh tonnes of rice from the farmers , when there is a gross yield of over 51 lakh tonnes. Ruling party MLAs and even minister for agriculture could not justify his stand on this and gave a reply saying that “ 51 lakh rice output was achieved inspite of bad mansoon” jagan has to recognise this fact. But the was not an answer to why government could procure only 13 lakh ton rice when there is 51 lakh output and is it not betraying the farmers?
Secondly Jagan also successfully high lighted that the non plan expenditure statistics of the government is pure jugglery of numbers. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu at this point of time wake up from his chair and every one expecting that he counters Jagan. But he only stood up to make a comment saying that Jagan is criticising budget figures watching at his face instead of addressing the chair(speaker). This clearly shows the un preparedness on the part of the government and its ministers who never expected this scenario from Jagan.
Even on the issue of employees salary bills and arrears calculations which is the part of non-plan expenditure of budget government could not respond with straight answer. It is surprising to see the efforts of Devineni Uma Maheswara rao who is an ex minister with experience tried to rebut Jagan’s criticism with meaningless and diversionary tactics saying that “ Jagan is not interested in the enhancement and payment of arrears of government employees”. This is not at all a good acceptable from ruling party members as they have to take the opposition’s remarks and correct their approach if there is a mistake or otherwise they clarify their stand on how they arrived those figures.
Leaving Jagan’s number crunching aside, YSRC party has to learn a lot about decency and decorum of assembly. Shameless comments of YSCRC MLA Roja addressing media relating to ruling party members “can they dare to kill her or rape her if they have guts “ is very much ridiculous and uncalled for. This kind of remarks are not expected from any self respected lady.
Hope her party leader Jagan and other senior members of the party give her necessary training on how to behave being a LEGISLATIVE MEMBER OF ASSEMBLY or Peoples representative of constituency. Heard some people talking in the media that she still thinks that she is in the profession of cinema watching her utterances, but even movie industry is feeling ashamed with Roja's comments.
