Naidu demands Bharat Ratna for NTR

Hyderabad: Obliquely referring to the Congress and YSR Congress parties. TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that the political parties which conspired to destroy the TDP were now on the verge of extinction in the State.

Participating in the 34th party’s Foundation day celebrations at party head office – NTR Trust Bhavan and also at Tulluru in Guntur district, he said the party founder NT Rama Rao had awakened the self esteem of the Telugu people and also promoted the self respect of Telugu-speaking people across the world. But some political parties tried hard to make the party a non-entity in the State politics since its inception.

However, NTR and himself thwarted the rival parties’ attempts and emerged a strong political force. Reiterating the demand that Bharat Ratna award be conferred posthumously to NT Rama Rao, he said his father-in law NTR was the only leader in the country brought the party to power within nine months after the TDP floated and became first Chief Minister form non-congress party in the undivided state . He also recalled NTR’s important role in national politics.

Naidu, who also the CM of AP, directed Telangana TDP leaders and workers strive hard to bring the party to power in Telangana state. He was indebted to the activists who sacrificed to the cause of the party , the TDP leader said the party would help financially the activists who were in distress. He also criticized the TRS government for its failure in implementing the promises made during the elections.
