In a case of serious security lapse, a computer with hard disc containing very important information of SHAR in Sriharikota has been missing. Speculation is rife that the computer contains crucial information about the PSLV’s future plans. The officials are shell-shocked over the theft occurred five days back despite the presence of widespread CCTV network and CISF security.
Nellore: In a case of serious security lapse, a computer with hard disc containing very important information of SHAR in Sriharikota has been missing. Speculation is rife that the computer contains crucial information about the PSLV’s future plans. The officials are shell-shocked over the theft occurred five days back despite the presence of widespread CCTV network and CISF security.
Doubts are being expressed regarding the involvement of terror elements following an alert sounded by the intelligence agencies. The officials are examining the CCTV footage. No official is prepared to speak about the incident. However, some have dismissed it as having occurred one and a half year back. The theft of the computer was stated to have been discussed by a high-level CISF officer with the security staff.
The CISF jawans launched search operations to locate the missing computer. The officials are trying to assess how, why and by whom it was taken away. Thefts of electrical and other items have taken place in SHAR in the past. A Bangladesh youth was arrested and jailed for committing theft of some electrical items.
