Rains likely to continue in north coastal AP, Telangana
Hyderabad: Satyavedu and Kamareddy in Chittoor and Nizamabad districts received 14 and 11 cm rainfall respectively on Monday, as rain occurred in many places in Telangana and at a few places in Rayalaseema. Isolated rainfall occurred in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana during the next five days.
Thunderstorm accompanied by squall/hailstorm will occur at few places in Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. On Monday, the maximum temperatures appreciably fell at few places in coastal Andhra Pradesh but rose at one or two places in Rayalaseema. They were markedly below normal at many places in Rayalaseema and at one or two places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. The highest maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram.
In Telangana the maximum temperatures markedly rose at one or two places. Elsewhere, they were markedly below normal. The highest maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nalgonda. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were: Andhra Pradesh: Tada, Veeraghattam 7 each, Palasamudram, Pagidyala, Venkatagiri and Tiruvuru 6 each, Pakala, Venkatagirikota, Pamidi and Therlam 5 each. Telangana: Tadwai 6, Hakimpet, Bayyaram, Sadasivanagar, Konijerla, Nagareddipet, Jadcherla, Kamareddy, Thimmajipeta and Bonakal 5 each.
Hailstorm occurred at the Hyderabad observatory and in some places in Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts. The temperature recordings in AP: Bapatla 35, Kakinada 34, Kalingapatnam 31, Kavali 33, Machilipatnam 35, Nandigama 35, Narsapur 34. The recordings in Telangana: Adilabad 31, Bhadrachalam 32, Hakimpet 28, Hanmakonda 31, Hyderabad 29, Mahabubnagar 32, Medak 30, Nalgonda 36, Nizamabad 31, Ramagundam 32.
