In a hard-hitting two-page statement on Thursday, Maoist Andhra-Telangana State Committee official spokesperson Yugandhar Dev, questioned the need to take woodcutters into the forest and kill them in ‘cold blood’. The security forces were blindly obeying the orders of their higher-ups and resorting to killing of people he said accusing the AP and Telangana governments of toeing the line.


Calling upon people to join the armed struggle launched by the Maoist party, the Maoist leader charged that the ‘fascist, fundamentalist’ Modi government was ruining the livelihood of the common man. The Central government is neglecting the sufferings of the farmers and forcibly taking over their lands and giving them to foreign investors.


The Union government is determined to bring the Land Acquisition Bill and Police laws to suit the Hindutva forces, he said and lamented that the Odisha government had ‘illegally’ detained top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda and confined him in Berhampur jail.
