Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, who celebrated his 65th birthday on Monday, is making quick moves to elevate his son Lokesh either as working president or general secretary of the party. An official announcement is likely to be made during the party annual conclave, Mahanadu, which would be held in May in Vijayawada. The talk of Lokesh elevation has further gained momentum with Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy commenting that the party wants to see Lokesh having a bright political future in the party.

Praising Lokesh for taking up ‘Samkshema yatra’ during which consoled the bereaved families of party workers, the minister said the seniors like him in the party would groom Lokesh into a good leader if the latter was drafted into active politics. He felt that it was time the party builds second rung leaders who are in the age group of Lokesh. When NTR floated the TDP, he had picked up all those who were 30 plus. All of them had now become old and are closer to retirement.
