YSRCP leader hacked to death in faction feud in Anantapur. A senior YSR Congress party functionary B Prasada Reddy was hacked to death inside the Mandal Revenue Office in Raptadu of Anantapur district in broad day light while he was in the Tehsildar’s room on Wednesday marking the revival of faction feud in the infamous Rayalaseema. In what could be a political vendetta, a popular trait of factional feuds of Rayalaseema, the TDP appears to have gained upper hand and edge over Opposition party workers. A senior YSR Congress party functionary B Prasada Reddy was hacked to death inside the Mandal Revenue Office in Raptadu of Anantapur district in broad day light while he was in the Tehsildar’s room on Wednesday marking the revival of faction feud in the infamous Rayalaseema.

According to eye witnesses a gang of eight unknown persons barged into the Tehsildar’s room where Prasada Reddy was sitting and pounced on him with crude sickles indiscriminately even as he was trying to escape. However the attack was so severe that he collapsed in a pool of blood that splattered all over the office causing instantaneous death. The deceased was one of the accused in a TDP leader’s murder.
Even as police reached the spot, hundreds of his mentor former YSRC MLA Gurnatha Reddy’s supporters gathered around the MRO office and set fire to office furniture along with two vehicles parked outside. They pelted stones and bricks at the glass panes of the office creating panic. District SP Rajasekhar Babu rushed to the scene of crime and tried to convince the agitated mob.
They alleged the involvement of police, the local TDP cadre and the son of slain TDP Leader Paritala Ravi in the murder of YSRCP leader.
Ironically the Raptadu police station is next to the Tehsildar’s office. Rapid Action Force has been summoned to Raptadu as the situation is very tense in the town with cries for revenge. The District SP has assured the family members of the slain leader that the police will arrest the culprits within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Condemning the heinous murder of its party leader in Ananthapuram district, YSR Congress has demanded an inquiry into the political killings after TDP has taken over the reins of the State.“We condemn the killing of our party mandal convener Prasad Reddy in Ananthapuram district and demand an inquiry into all the political killings after TDP assumed power,” says party spokesperson Vasiredddy Padma.
“Government offices have become a haven for the TDP in power to carry out criminal activities and the State is sponsoring political vendetta since the past nine months, said the party spokesperson who demanded an inquiry into all the political murders after TDP has come to power.
