BJP minister in Chandrababu cabinet under corruption glare

Will AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu take action against the corrupt deeds of a Public Relations officer of his health minister Kamineni Srinivas Rao (a BJP nominee)?

Gosala Prasad Rao, the self styled super PRO in the office of AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas Rao was summarily dismissed today on the charge of 'corrupt practices ' after exposure about his antics in local vernacular media including channels. The Gosala affair involving the BJP minister in AP cabinet will be a litmus test for Chandrababu Naidu campaign against corruption in administration.

But ironically it was Chandrababu Naidu who had inaugurated an alleged official magazine of the health department - Arogyamastu on January 26 last which has been the hot bed of corrupt activities of the PRO who named himself as the chief editor of the magazine. Gosala wrote on his fake letter head ( a PRO cannot get letter heads printed ) to Arogyasri CEO and demanded Rs.One crore worth ads through a dummy ad agency based at Tirupati.

Sources in the health department say that Gosala formed a clique with four five other officials including an IAS (said to be Brahmin's lobby) that was aware of the loopholes in the administration and exploited for mutual benefit. 'Unless he had the support of the Minister, Gosala could not have ventured into such a huge corrupt activity in which as much as Rs. 7 crore is said to have passed hands in not only the magazine ads, but also the brokerage of transfers in the medical and health department , said a reliable source in the Health Ministers peshi.

Gosala as he is popularly known, hails from Godavari districts and was an erstwhile beneficiary of the YSR gratis and appointed as an Assistant editor in the Andhra Pradesh magazine. But enterprising Gosala worked closely for variety of mud slinging publication of booklets, brochures for congress dissidents and news reports for consumption of Delhi high command. His RSS background helped him to grow closer to the Congress minister, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy.Gosala was also very close to senior IAS officers Chiranjeevi, L V Subramanyam and also C. Parthasarathy (erstwhile I & PR commissioner).

Gosala Prasad had also cheated several journalists by getting articles and projects written by them which he published in his name and did not pay them . Gosala and Co had also published a booklet on 'One year of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and K Rosaiah'/and minted huge amounts from the government funds .
