MLA pulls up civic officials
Local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary on Tuesday took the municipal officials to task for digging up canals for de-silting on Tilak Road here without giving advance notice to the people. He said the civi staff had kept even the Commissioner in the dark. The work was left halfway done, he said

After visiting the spot along with Deputy Mayor Gampanna, Municipal Commissioner Nagaveni and several officials, Chowdary told the media that local residents were facing hardship on account of indifferent attitude of the Municipal. The MLA alleged that some Assistant Engineers and a corporator had permitted “indiscriminate digging” of canals and left the work unfinished.
This was not taken to the notice of the Commissioner. Such indifference on the part of Municipal staff was causing severe hardship to the people. Chowdary threatened to see that action was taken against those responsible for abruptly stoppage canal digging work.
