New Delhi: Concerned over the decision of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to deploy his own police in Hyderabad as a security measure, the Union Home Ministry is said to have conveyed its displeasure to Naidu over the same in strongest terms.

Taking a serious view of the matter, the Home Ministry is said to have asked the Governor to ensure that the provisions of Section 8 of the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 are not violated by either governments under any pretext. It may be recalled that the AP government had complained to the Home Ministry several times seeking amendment to the Act to give more powers to the Governor in law and order so that the Telangana government will have limited say on law and order in Hyderabad, a joint capital of the two States for 10 years.

It is being felt here that the decision of Naidu was in contravention of the provisions of not only Section 8 but also against the very Law and Order stipulations. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh might have said that his Home Secretary L C Goyal would be handling the 'AP/TS situation" vis-a-vis cash for vote scam, but there seems to be hardly any time for the Secretary to spare any time for the same.

Even as the Home Ministry was beseeched by the TDP leadership led by its president Chandrababu Naidu to press charges against the TRS government of phone-tapping, Sushma Swaraj's act of 'impropriety" exploded on its face. No sooner, was the situation turning hot for the Centre, the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, stepped into the quagmire of Lalit Modi case.

Yet another political hot spot taking shape for some time now arose in the form of ACB chargesheet against Chagan Bhujbal in misappropriation cases came to the fore. All these were like add-on cards to the already busy Home Ministry that was immersed in its tussle with the AAP government over who should do what in Delhi and the arrest of Delhi Minister Jitender Tomar in fake degree certificate case.

No wonder the Home Ministry is one of the busiest now churning the swamp of cases and sieving its Intel inputs. "We don't know what is in store tomorrow for us. As for now, all our energies are spent on collating intelligence. Media is only adding to the confusion with its breaking stories" Home Ministry sources point out.

Meanwhile, an official who was reportedly asked to embark on a 'personal quick-visit' to Hyderabad for an on-the-spot assessment of the emerging situation "could not undertake the same" in view of the other pressing engagements, it is being said.
