New Delhi: Intensifying its attempts to corner the Telangana government on the issue of phone tapping, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao, here on Thursday spent nearly one and half hours with the Union Home Secretary L C Goyal on Thursday discussing various provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act and the disputes thereof with the Telangana Government.

Krishna Rao’s meeting with the Home Secretary assumes importance in the wake of the ongoing controversy over section 8 of the AP State Re-organisation act and the alleged phone tapping by Telangana government. When contacted, Rao told The Hans India that he came to Delhi to meet Goyal as he never got a chance to meet him leisurely.

He said he had come to Delhi to discuss in detail the provisions of Section 8, Schedule 9 and 10 of the Act that dealt with law and order issues and bifurcation of assets and properties common to both. "I am not getting any leisure time to interact with him during my visits while accompanying the CM. Hence, I took the opportunity today", he said.

He said he explained the AP State’s view point to him over some issues that have become contentious. The Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary, also met Goyal on Thursday and presented AP Government's stand in the cash-for-vote scam.

In a bid to buffer the effort of the Krishna Rao, who was busy meeting the TRAI and telecom heads, Chowdary, is said to have presented a similar argument as that of Rao. He reportedly complained that the TRS Government was trying to frame not only the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in sheer desperation, but also attempting to defame the TDP leadership.

The bid to drag the names of MPs and Union ministers was part of the same, he is said to have explained to Goyal. He also specified the reasons for deploying AP police in Hyderabad.
