Distinguished bureaucrat R Rajamani passes away
Highlights
R Rajamani, retired IAS officer and environmental expert passed away on Thursday in Hyderabad after a brief illness. Rajamani had served as Collector of Adilabad and Medak districts and also served as principal secretary in Finance & Forest departments in AP. Later, he held the position of secretary, Pillai pay commission for banking staff & later in banking department in New Delhi.

Later, he held the position of secretary, Pillai pay commission for banking staff & later in banking department in New Delhi.
His career was marked by his distinguished service in the secretariat of three Prime Minister's- Morarji Desai, Charan Singh & Indira Gandhi- and in the cabinet secretariat under Rajiv Gandhi. After retirement, he was adviser to United Nations environment programme and also a member of the Supreme Court committee on environment.
