Govt gives nod for 19 lift irrigation schemes
The State government gave administrative sanction for 19 Lift Irrigation schemes (LIs) with an estimated project cost of Rs 40 crore. Of the 342 LIs in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, the State has got 192 LIs, post-bifurcation. Earlier, the government had accorded administrative sanction for 169 LIs, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,234 crore following the recommendations of the Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Department.

Of the 342 LIs in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, the State has got 192 LIs, post-bifurcation. Earlier, the government had accorded administrative sanction for 169 LIs, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,234 crore following the recommendations of the Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Department.
The LI schemes include: Lingalavalasa LI scheme in Gajapathinagaram and Dharmavaram LI scheme in S Kota and Korisila LI scheme at Komarada mandal in Vizianagaram district. Konthili LI scheme in Hukumpeta mandal, Ubbidiputtu LI scheme in Paderu mandal, Kodigedda and Bodiguda LI schemes in Araku Valley mandal, Kothurubayalu LI scheme in Chinthapalli mandal and Bandabayalu LI scheme at Chinthapalli mandal in Visakhapatnam district.
Similarly, two projects, Palukurithanda LI scheme in Bollapalli mandal and Pedanandipadu-1 LI scheme in Pedanandipadu mandal in Guntur district. Among other LIs which were sanctioned are Kothavalasa LI scheme in Araku Valley mandal in Visakhapatnam, Vutukuru, Sandepudi–1 & 2, Pittambanda, Pedanandipadu, Singarakondapalem and Ponduru.
