I prayed for nation’s prosperity: Prez
President Pranab Mukherjee on a pilgrimage to Tirumala arrived here to a red carpet welcome at the Renigunta airport. He was received by Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao, DGP J V Ramudu along with other ministers and bureaucrats on Wednesday morning.

Tirupati: President Pranab Mukherjee on a pilgrimage to Tirumala arrived here to a red carpet welcome at the Renigunta airport. He was received by Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao, DGP J V Ramudu along with other ministers and bureaucrats on Wednesday morning.
The President then headed straight to Goddess Padmavathi temple at Tiruchanoor where he was received with traditional ceremonies by priests and TTD executive officer Dr. D Sambasiva Rao. Later, he also went to Kapileswara temple near the foot hills before leaving for Tirumala on road.

President, accompanied by CM and Governor, went to Lord Venkateswara temple, where he received 'Isthikapal' welcome by the officials and priests of the TTD. Later, Pranab Mukherjee said he worshipped Lord Venkateswara for the overall prosperity of the nation. He added, “Every time after my pilgrimage to the Tirumala temple, I have emerged stronger in my life. I have prayed for our nation to prosper”.
