Hyderabad: About 50 candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh bagged ranks in the Civil Services examination. Saketa Raja Musinipally bagged all-India 14th rank, followed by CM Saikanth Varma (18), Lakshmi Kanth Reddy G (21), Balaji D K (36), Vivekananda (39), Mohammad Roshan (44), Raja Gopal Sunkara (49), Kranthi Kumar Pati (50), Teja Mylavarapu V R K (66), Veditha Reddy (71), Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru (88), Harendhira Prasad M N (93), Satish Reddy Pingle (97), Bharat Reddy Bommareddy (120).



From the Telugu Speaking States, about 28,000 aspirants appeared for the preliminary examination conducted in August from Hyderabad, Vijayawada Visakhapatnam and Tirupati centres. Out of them, 1,000 have qualified for the Main examination in December. About 80 of them have qualified for the personality test and around 50 have been certified for UPSC appointments. Saketa Raja Musinipally is the first ranker among the Telugus.

Saketa is the son of M Chaya Ratan, retired bureaucrat of united Andhra Pradesh and M Ratan, retired IPS, former DG, Vigilance and Enforcement and presently working as the State Information Commissioner (RTI). Talking to The Hans India, Saketa Raja said, “In the first attempt I cleared the examination. I did go for coaching classes but they were not helpful. The examination is tough but not impossible.” Saketa, who loves running and trekking, wants to take up Indian Foreign Service.



His father Ratan said that they had never pushed him to take up the examinations. “On his own, Saketa took up the challenge and cleared it,” he said. Another candidate CM Saikanth Varma who clinched civil services in the first attempt said that he had completed dual degree from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras.



“I worked with Amazon, Google and started preparing for the Civil Services exam from 2013. I am very much elated on being qualified,” he added. Lakshmi Kanth Reddy, who hails from an agriculture family, got all-India 21st rank. He said while working in KPMG consultancy company he had got to interact with various top officials in the government departments. “I was motivated by their work and started preparing for the exam,” he added.



Lakshmi Bhavya, who also hails from an agricultural family, bagged all-India 88th rank. She said that the result came as a pleasant surprise to her. “I did expect a high rank, but not 88th rank. It was a really pleasant surprise to me,” elated Bhavya said. Bhavya, who cracked the exam in the second attempt, said her first preference would be IAS. Krishna Teja, who bagged the 66th rank in his fourth attempt, is a faculty member in a reputed Civil Services coaching centre here.
