Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is grappling with various problems in the post bifurcation scenario, is now facing a new problem of taming the aggressive first-time legislators in his party. Unhappy over the manner in which MRO Vanajakshi was allegedly assaulted by MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar and his followers which has led to all revenue officers across the state going on strike, Naidu is said to have sent a strong message to party leaders that such incidents and elements in the party should fall in line if the government was to achieve its dreams and goals.

According to insiders, following the attack on Vanajakshi, Naidu is of the opinion that the issue not only needs to be resolved but steps should be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur. Sources say that Naidu feels that unless his government can establish that Andhra Pradesh was a safe and best destination for investments, his efforts to woo the investors would not fructify.

He also does not want to antagonise the government employees who can make or mar the prospects of a government during elections. It is learnt that Naidu had told his associates that he would not tolerate any kind of “Gunda Gardi” whosoever it might be. He is said to be unhappy with some of the first-time MLAs like Chintamaneni Prabhakar and Bonda Umamaheswar Rao for creating embarrassing situations.

It may be recalled that during the budget session, Bonda Umamaheswar Rao had made certain snide remarks against the actress-turned-politician and YSRCP MLA Roja and called her “Aunty”. This had led to a lot of protests and the proceedings of the Assembly were stalled for more than two days. In the backdrop of this situation, Naidu on Friday, while talking to reporters in New Delhi, affirmed that he would like to end mining mafia once for all in the State.
