The Chief Minister arrived at Kovvur at 11.30 am from Rajahmundry. He inspected all the ghats in the town and interacted with the pilgrims to know about the arrangements made by the officials. The pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

Kovvur (West Godavari): Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed satisfaction over the arrangements provided for the pilgrims attending Godavari Pushkaralu in Kovvur town. The Chief Minister arrived at Kovvur at 11.30 am from Rajahmundry. He inspected all the ghats in the town and interacted with the pilgrims to know about the arrangements made by the officials. The pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

However, they complained that they were facing severe inconvenience due to poor transport system. Though free buses are being provided, they are not adequate, the pilgrims said. Responding on the problems of pilgrims, the Chief Minister has said that there was some traffic problem on the road on the banks of the river. He pointed out that the chaos was caused as the road was a single-lane road.

The Chief Minister said that in view of the heavy rush of pilgrims for Pushkaralu, some more free buses would be arranged. He pointed out that the free bus services have been increased to 175 for the benefit of pilgrims. He said the government was taking all steps to provide the necessary facilities to pilgrims taking part in the Pushkaralu.

Naidu said that pilgrims from different parts of the country and abroad were attending the Maha Pushkaralu. The Chief Minister inspected the Goshpada Kshetram ghat, where huge crowd was witnessed on the third day. Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha, Rajahmundry MP Maganti Murali Mohan and others accompanied the CM.
