Tirumala: It was a triple celestial bonanza for the devotees who thronged the Tirumala shrine to take part in the sixth-day annual Brahmotsavams at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara as Lord Malayappa Swamy bestowed his divine grace 'thrice' on lakhs of devotees who assembled on either sides of the four mada streets on Monday.

In line with the customary practice for several years now, Lord Malayappa Swamy takes a pleasure ride on two Vahanams (processions) a day during the annual Brahmotsavams, is taken out on three different processions on the sixth-day of the Salakatla Brahmotsavams which include the 'Hanumanta Vahanam, the golden chariot procession and the Gaja Vahanam' in a sequence.

Lord being taken on Hanumanta Vahanam on the sixth day of Brahmotsavams on Monday. After the turn of Lord Garuda to carry His Master - Lord Malayappa Swamy on his shoulders the previous night, it was the turn of Lord Hanuman to steer his favourite deity Lord Rama on his shoulders as part of the 'Hanumanta Vahanam' procession on Monday.

On the sixth-day morning, Lord Malayappa Swamy donning the guise of Lord Rama exquisitely holding the golden bow and arrow and seated atop the Hanumanta Vahana stepped out of the Vahana mandapam onto the four mada streets amidst the thunderous Govinda Nama chants of the devout.

Immense importance is given to the Hanumanta Vahanam by the devotees as Hanuman is not only considered as an ardent devotee of Lord Rama but also an exponent of all Vedas, besides being an embodiment of bravery, success, strength and wisdom.

Lord Hanuman is considered an embodiment of wisdom, physical prowess, success, bravery, health, speed, dynamism and other noble qualities.
As an ardent devotee who carried Lord Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders, Lord Hanuman's association with Lord Venkateswara who is also an incarnation of Lord Vishnu is well established with one of the seven hills of Lord Venkateswara named as 'Anjanadri'.

Thus, the darshan of the Hanumanta Vahanam procession is considered not only auspicious but also a divine opportunity to imbibe the grace of the almighty with high intellectual connotations.

“The appearance of both Lord Rama and Hanuman is said to inspire even the scholars and pundits for an extensive exploration of Vedic scriptures and promote a righteous lifestyle,” said Dr A V Ramana Dikshitulu, the Chief Priest of the Tirumala temple.

Meanwhile, after the Golden chariot procession in the evening, Lord Venkateswara enthralled the devotees on the Gaja Vahanam (Elephant) later in the night.

Among those blessed creatures in the service of the Lord, the mighty elephant enjoys a prominent place being the celestial vehicle of Goddess Mahalakshmi, the divine consort of Lord Vishnu.

To appease His Consort as well as bless the devout with all prosperity, Lord Malayappa Swamy adorned with pearls, diamonds and precious stones, mounted the Gaja Vahanam which was a celestial feast to the eyes of the devout.
