Raghuveera Reddy was in Kuppam to meet the disgruntled residents who are protesting against the proposed airport. According to reports, some TDP activists pelted stones and chappals at Raghuveera Reddy's vehicle. He,however, escaped unhurt in the incident.
Situation turned tense for sometime when the Congress men and TDP activists pushed each other. An SI, who was on duty, reportedly suffered minor injuries in the melee. Police denied permission to conduct a meeting at Kuppam and several Congress men were detained.
