Incessant rains cut off Chennai-Kolkata Highway in Nellore

30 metres of the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway between Gudur and Manubolu was washed away on Monday due to the heavy rains causing major traffic issues.
Also, two bridges between Audisankara Engineering College in Manubolu and Gudur were left damaged due to the flow of water. Following which, the vehicles bound for Chennai were being diverted through Udayagiri, Kavali and Badvel to join the highway to Chennai at Kadapa.
Even the Nellore-Mumbai Highway was hit with traffic halt as the diversion road near Vasili in Sangam mandal was washed away but the National Highway near Sullurpeta allowed the movement of traffic to Chennai from Nayudupeta and Gudur.
