Following the brutal murder of Mayor Anuradha and attack on her husband K Mohan, police have imposed Section 144 in sensitive areas in Chittoor district. Unidentified men had sprung the attack on the mayor and her husband Mohanin corporation office in Chittoor on Tuesday.

Mohan also succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at the CMC Hospital in Vellore after suffering serious injuries. While Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu condemned the gruesome murder, he said that the ones behind the murder will be punished severely. Police are suspecting Mohan's nephew Chintoo's role in the murder.
