Vijayawada: Director General of Police J V Ramudu said there would be threat for security due to rise in cyber crimes and police should be aware of techniques for investigating cyber crime by updating their cyber knowledge. He said it is difficult to trace 90 per cent of rogue sites so police should be alert.

The DGP after inaugurating DGP office in Vijayawada on Monday released a book Cyber Crime Investigation Techniques published by ESF Labs and AP Police in collaboration with K L University. Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said the economy of the country depends on curbing the cyber crimes and said it would be very difficult to identify those involved in cyber crime since it is difficult to trace 90 per cent of the rogue sites.

The DGP stressed the need for more research to arrest cyber crime and praised Anil and Ramesh Babu for their research on cyber crime and human security. Ramudu said that 500 sub-inspectors who completed training would be provided additional training in cyber crime control. Referring to Amaravati capital policing the DGP said that Amaravati commissionerate should be formed and it should be a free zone giving opportunity for everyone to work here. He said that the police also sent proposals to upgrade the police system for Amaravati capital.

The DGP said that officials will be available at DGP office on every Monday to receive complaints and petitions from public.
