President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Bhimavaram and Tirupati to participate in various programmes on Friday. After inaugurating Veda Pathasala of the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at AI Bhimavaram in West Godavari district in the morning, he will head to Tirupati to offer prayers.

Eluru/ Tirupati: President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Bhimavaram and Tirupati to participate in various programmes on Friday. After inaugurating Veda Pathasala of the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at AI Bhimavaram in West Godavari district in the morning, he will head to Tirupati to offer prayers.

He is scheduled to reach AI. Bhimavaram at 11.35 am by helicopter from Vijayawada, and will inaugurate the religious centre at 11:45 am. Later, he will address a public meeting in the same premises. He will head to Tirumala via Vijayawada at 01.05 pm by helicopter from AI Bhimavaram. He is expected to arrive at Renigunta airport at 2.50 PM. He will be accompanied by Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. After the reception at the airport, the President entourage will leave by road to Tirumala and reach Padmavathi Guest House on the hills at 3.40 PM. The President will head to temple after a 45-minute halt.

The President, along with Governor and Chief Minister, will first visit Sri Varahaswamy temple on the banks of Pushkarini between 4.30 PM and 4.45 PM and later Sri Venkateswara temple to offer prayers. They will return to guest house after a 45-minute Srivari temple visit. The President entourage will leave Tirumala at 6.05 PM to reach the airport by 6.45 PM to leave for Hyderabad at 7 PM.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in both Bhimavaram and Tirupati. The Special Protection Group (SPG) and other special security personnel have already reached Bhimavaram town on Wednesday. The police had already inspected the venue and all connecting roads. In AI Bhimavaram, officials have arranged three helipads for the purpose. Air Force had already conducted a trial run of the helicopter landing. Meanwhile, Tirupati Urban police conducted a trail run of the convoy on Thursday from Renigunta airport to Tirumala and back, ahead of the President’s visit here.
