Speaking to The Hans India, Temple Executive Officer (EO) K Purnachandra Rao said that police personnel were deployed to regulate queue lines. Rao said that they have expected heavy turnout of devotees as it is a custom for devotees to offer prayers at Kanipakam temple after visiting Tirumala. The EO further said that temple management has taken care to provide more than 1 lakh laddus to devotees at a cost of Rs 10 each. “So far, 80,000 devotees have visited the temple and another 10,000 devotees are expected to have darsan by late hours on Friday,” he added. The temple official said that free meals provided to all the devotees without any discrimination under the Nithya Annadanam Scheme. Special counters were set up to issue Rs 100 tickets for devotees to have quick darsan of presiding deity.

Puthalapattu MLA Dr Sunil has visited the temple in the early hours and advised the temple staff to make arrangements for providing hassle-free darshan to devotees.

The RTC operated special buses on different routes for convenience of devotees. Purnachandra Rao said that a first-aid centre was set up in the temple premises. He stated that instructions were given to the home guards to show respect for devotees while regulating queue lines. Temple superintendent Ravi Prasad, inspectors Balaji Naidu and Chittamma and
others were present.
