Tadepalligudem: Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao has said the Government has decided to provide basic amnities in rural areas under Chandranna Baata scheme.

He inaugurated the 3rd phase Janmabhoomi- Maa Vooru programme at Kunchanapalli village in Tadepalligudem Rural mandal on Saturday.

Speaking in the Grama Sabha, the Minister said that under Chandranna Baata programme, concrete roads would be completed in rural areas by March 31. He said the Janmabhoomi- Maa Vooru programme was taken up with a slogan Akarshaniya Graamam – Aakarshaniya Ward (Attractive village and attractive ward). He said the government had taken up steps to solve the problems relating to drinking water, underground drainage and roads.

He said the government had started the NTR diagnostic tests scheme on New Year’s Day. Under the scheme, the diagnostic services would he held free of cost at all Primary Health Centres from February.

The Minister said that for West Godavari district, about 95,000 new ration cards were sanctioned. The card holders would get the essential commodities quota from February. Similarly, under Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka programme, the cardholders would get the essential commodities from January 7, the Minister said.

The villagers complained to the Minister that the people were facing severe drinking water problem in the village. Responding to their complaint, the Minister directed the RWS Assistant Engineer, Parvati, to supply filtered drinking water to the villagers on a war-footing.

The Minister disbursed cheques worth Rs 15 lakhs to DWCRA women, e-pass books to 19 farmers and white ration cards to 29 poor families. Mandal Parishad Chairman Parimi Ravi Kumar, In-charge DPO Rajyalakshmi, Sarpanch Juvvala Manikumari and others participated in the programme.
