Visakhapatnam: Project Officer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) M Harinarayanan asked the officials of tribal welfare, water supply and agriculture departments to expedite the Vanabandhu Kalyan Yojana works launched in G Madugula mandal as a pilot project by the Central government which was meant for infrastructure development with a cost of Rs 10 crore.
He questioned the engineering officials why the works of Kottapalli water falls were not yet grounded even after releasing a sum of Rs 5.9 crore and instructed them to submit the bills for the works completed so far for payment of bills before Sankranti.
The Vanabandhu Kalyan Yojana was meant for providing toilets, drinking water facility to all schools and earmarking of play grounds in the Agency mandals.
Harinarayanan directed to display boards at schools with the details of development works taken up under Vanabandhu. Later, a meeting was held with Additional DM&HO Dr Y Venkateswara Rao, District Malaria Officer Tulasi and District TB Control Officer Vasundhara. He asked them to conduct ‘hemoglobin’ tests for children studying from Class-1 to 10 in all the tribal welfare and ashram schools from January 20 by chalking out PHC-wise action plan.
“If you endorse the dates of conducting the tests in a particular school in advance, we will alert respective mandal education officers and assistant tribal welfare officers”, he said.
