Chittoor: Punganur YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has termed the Janmabhoomi-Mana Vooru programme as ruling party gimmick. He flayed Chief Minister N Chadrababu Naidu for launching third phase of Janmabhoomi for defending his failures in developing the state. “Janmabhoomi committees are nothing but the TDP committees. There is no representation of elected representatives from the district in the Janmabhoomi committees. The TDP wants to derive political advantage through Janmabhoomi,” he added.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, Peddireddy criticised the Chief Minister for failing to develop his own district due to political reasons. The MLA stated that the YSRCP has won majority Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in the district under the leadership of Jaganmohan Reddy. “TDP could not win more seats despite district being represented by the Chief Minister,” he added. Peddireddy alleged that the TDP government is neglecting the district as majority of their party candidates had lost in previous general elections.

The YSRCP MLA said that party leaders have decided to create awareness among the people over the discrimination shown by the Chief Minister towards the district. He exuded confidence of Jaganmohan Reddy becoming the Chief Minister in the next general elections. He demanded the Chief Minister to cancel the Janmabhoomi committees with immediate effect keeping people’s interest in mind.

Ramachanda Reddy said that the TDP had made futile effort to divert water from Handri Neeva project to Punganur for resolving the drinking water shortage in his Assembly constituency. The YSRCP leader said that the TDP lacks commitment to supply drinking water to Punganur. Asked to comment about the dissidence among the district party leaders, the MLA ruled out by saying that all the leaders of the party are doing excellent effort for strengthening the party. Earlier, YSRCP State Publicity Secretary M Devendra Rao and other party leaders have presented a memento to Peddireddy. Party leaders Koteswara Mudaliar, Yathish, Chaithanya, Jayachandra and others were present.
