Couple dies of electric shock
A middle aged couple was electrocuted at East Vipparru village in Iragavaram Mandal of West Godavari district on Monday evening.
Tanuku: A middle-aged couple was electrocuted at East Vipparru village in Iragavaram Mandal of West Godavari district on Monday evening.
According to police, Ambati Ramarao (55) of East-Vipparru village climbed staircase of his building to fix an iron rod on the roof.
In this process, the iron rod that he was carrying came in contact with a live wire of high voltage capacity.
He fell down immediately with a big scream and his wife Annapoorna (50) hearing to his screams rushed to the rooftop and tried to pull him but she was also electrocuted, resulting in the death of both on the spot.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Tanuku Government hospital. The couple was survived by daughter who was residing at Perupalem in Mogalturu mandal, while their son passed away some time back.
