Pawan acts against Jr NTR film producer
In a development which sent Tollywood into a state of shock, actor Pawan Kalyan filed a case against producer BVSN Prasad at Movie Artistes Association (MAA), claiming that the producer failed to pay a part of his remuneration.
Hyderabad: In a development which sent Tollywood into a state of shock, actor Pawan Kalyan filed a case against producer BVSN Prasad at Movie Artistes Association (MAA), claiming that the producer failed to pay a part of his remuneration. It is understood that the actor, who has been waiting for over a couple of years for his due of rupees two crore for the film ‘Attarintiki Daredi’, eventually moved MAA for redressal.
‘Attarintiki Daredi’, which released in 2013, has collected nearly Rs 100 crore at the box-office, making in an industry hit. However, one should recall that the film had its share of controversies before its release, as first half of the film was leaked online.
“Pawan has filed a complaint with MAA against producer BVSN Prasad for evading a part of his remuneration which was promised to be given after the film’s release,” revealed a source. It is learnt that MAA has forwarded the complaint to the Telugu Film Producers Council. Burugupalli Sivarama Krishna, President of Telugu Film Producers Council, when contacted, acknowledged that they have a received a receipt of the complaint.
“Yes, we have received a complaint on Tuesday morning from MAA. We are looking into the matter. BVSN Prasad has issued a cheque to Pawan Kalyan but it was dishonoured, so we shall issue a showcase notice to the producer seeking an explanation. Upon his rejoinder, both the parties (MAA representatives and producer) will be given the opportunity to be heard and further action will be initiated,” he said.
Interestingly, BVSN Prasad publicly said that Pawan and ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ director Trivikram treated him like their own father and helped him through the tough period.
