Chittoor: District Superintendent of Police (SP) G Srinivas asked police officials to make use of technology in resolving the cases. He informed them to maintain friendly relations with people and safeguard interests of all sections of the society.

Addressing the police officials at a meeting organised at the District Police Office (DPO) here on Wednesday, the SP said that crime rate has come down drastically in 2015 compared to previous year. He appreciated police personnel for nabbing the kingpins, who were involved in red sanders smuggling.

Srinivas has directed police officials to adopt a plan of action to arrest the criminals for making district crime-free. He said that district police once again proved themselves by arresting all the accused in the Mayor couple murder case.

“Police officials should protect the interests of the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society and take innovative measures to ease traffic congestion in important towns of the district,” he said.

The SP advised police officials to be more cautious as more attention is given to Chittoor district as it is being represented by the Chief Minister. Earlier, he reviewed law and order situation in sub-divisions. Additional SP Annapurna Reddy, ASP (operations) Ratna and other police officials were present.
