Chittoor: District Superintendent of Police (SP) said on Friday that police recovered Rs 50 lakh cash and 406 grams of gold from a woman, who owns restaurant and bar in Bengaluru.

The SP said Pavani is a close associate of Chintu alias Chandrasekhar, who is main accused in the Mayor couple murder case, had cheated several women with false promises. Victims believed Pavani as she happens to be Chintu’s accomplice.

She took 406 grams of gold from Jyostna, a resident of Ramanagar in the city, and secured loan by mortgaging it at Muthoot Finance. Pavani did not return gold to Jyostna after repeated requests.

Based on Jyostna’s complaint, police registered cases against Pavani, Haridas, Charan Kumar and others. The SP said that Pavani and Chintu jointly mortgaged the gold in the finance company. He stated that Pavani was arrested earlier on the charges of cheating.
