Eluru: District Joint Director of Agriculture Y Sai Lakshmeswari directed the officials to create awareness among farmers on the supply of irrigation water by rotation to rabi crop in the district. She was reviewing the implementation of agriculture schemes with agricultural department officials at IADP Hall here on Friday.
Sai Lakshameswari said the field officers should work with coordination to implement the rotation system in the prescribed areas in the district, where there is shortage of water.
She said there was no scarcity of fertilisers in the district as buffer stocks were available. The Joint Director said the district stood in first place by distributing Rs 22.12 crore worth agricultural equipments to 15,000 farmers and congratulated the officials for the achievement.
She called on the officials to take up awareness programmes among the farming community on the best management systems in cultivation and implement the ‘Chandranna Rythu Kshetram’ and ‘Polam Pilustomdi’ programmes.
