Addressing the media in Mangalgiri, the MLA stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is wasting public money for a temporary capital or a two-year period where Rs. 400-500 crores would be spent while he had earlier promised the new capital city of Amaravathi  by 2018.

Speaking further, Rama Krishna Reddy said that when Hyderabad can be used as a joint capital for 10 years and offices in Guntur, Vijayawada can be used as the temporary capital, the need for another temporary capital is not required. Also, the YSRCP MLA added that Chief Minister's statements over lack of funds are falling flat as crores of rupees are being spent for the temporary capital.
