The Union Health Ministry has approved the building plan and architecture for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for which Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had laid foundation stone on December 19, according to medical directorate sources. 

Mangalagiri (Guntur): The Union Health Ministry has approved the building plan and architecture for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for which Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had laid foundation stone on December 19, according to medical directorate sources.

The tenders’ process is on and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has recently informed that the tenders for the mega project will be called for very soon. The AIIMS will be built at a cost of Rs 18,000 crore. Union Health Minister JP Nadda had also declared that medical admissions will be processed from the forthcoming academic year 2016-17 in temporary buildings.

A 100-metre road connecting AIIMS to the national highway is also being taken up and the land for the road is being given by the APSP 6th Battalion which is in the vicinity.
