The CRDA and district officials have made all the arrangements for the foundation stone ceremony of temporary Secretariat. The government will construct 6 blocks on G+1 model at a cost of Rs 201 crore.

Amaravati: Land levelling works are in full swing for the construction of temporary Secretariat in 45-acres at Velagapudi village under Thullur mandal of Guntur district on Tuesday. The CRDA and district officials have made all the arrangements for the foundation stone ceremony of temporary Secretariat. The government will construct 6 blocks on G+1 model at a cost of Rs 201 crore.
The L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji & Co will construct the temporary Secretariat buildings. One block for the Chief Minister’s office, another block for Assembly and remaining four blocks will be allotted for officials and staff. Greenery will be developed in 23.587 acres on the premises.
According to norms, the companies would have to complete the construction by June 25.The L&T engineers have already reached the temporary Secretariat site and supervised the land levelling works. It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Narendra performed Bhoomi puja and set the foundation stone for the construction of capital on October 22, 2015.
After that there is no progress in the capital construction activity. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will set the foundation stone for the construction of temporary capital at 8.23 a.m. on Wednesday. The Chief Minister assured the people that he would shift the entire administration to the temporary secretariat after completion of the temporary Secretariat.
District Collector Kantilal Dande reviewed the arrangements for the construction of temporary Secretariat. Similarly, Guntur urban SP Sarva Sreshta Tripati reviewed security arrangements for foundation stone ceremony at Velagapudi on Tuesday.
Naidu will reach the venue by helicopter at 8.10 a.m. He will be back at 9 a.m. District in-charge Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Chinarajappa, Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu and Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana will participate in the programme.
