AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu faced a heavy backlash from Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti founder Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy who stated that the Rayalaseema profits are being diverted towards the development of coastal areas particularly the Capital region - Amaravati.

The Rayalaseema leader said that by not using the rich mining income for the development of backward Rayalaseema region, the rulers are obstructing development in the region. Touring all parts of Rayalaseema region in order to create awareness among the people regarding the region being ignored by the government, Mr Rajasekhar Reddy took up on a bus yatra. Addressing a public meeting in Adoni, he alleged that Chandrababu was ignoring Rayalaseema and developing other parts with the profits of rich mines.

Citing the example of the delay in establishing a steel factory in Rayalseema, Mr Rajasekhar Reddy said that they expected employment opportunities with the Factory in Kadapa district but due to the delay, the hopes for the unemployed youth in the region has been wiped out. He further stated that if the situation continued, they would demand a separate state.
