Cricket tourney for journos from March 11 to 13
The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) and Andhra Pradesh Electronic Media Journalists Association (APEMJA) is jointly organising district-level journalists’ cricket tournament
Eluru: The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) and Andhra Pradesh Electronic Media Journalists Association (APEMJA) is jointly organising district-level journalists’ cricket tournament for accredited journalists in Eluru from March 11 to 13, according to APUWJ district president G Raghuram and AP Electronic Media district president K Manikya Rao.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, they said sports will help in developing camaraderie and exhorted the participants to take part in the event with sportsman’s spirit.
They said that the tourney was named after late Mangalampalli Chandrasekhar, the founder of APUWJ and requested all newspapers, including small and medium, electronic media journalists, photo and video journalists to participate in the tourney.
They said the tourney will be in T-20 format, adding that one team from each constituency will participate in the match. The winning team would be presented Mangalampalli Chandrasekhar trophy. Besides this, best batsman, bowler, fielder and all-rounder awards and cash prizes for winners and runners up would also be presented.
