Chittoor: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district general body meeting held at party office here on Tuesday. The TDP district president and MLC G Srinivasulu presided over the general body meeting. Addressing the meeting, Srinivasulu gave a call to party leaders and workers to make combined efforts for strengthening the TDP in the district. TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh is actively monitoring the party activities in the district, he said adding that he had already gave schedule for implementing various party programmes in the district. He made an appeal to leaders for making field visits so that they can know the people’s pulse towards the TDP rule.
The TDP leader showered praises on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for putting efforts to develop the State. The Chief Minister is very keen to divert the water from Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project to Kuppam Assembly constituency in the first phase and for remaining parts of the district in the second phase, he said adding that an administrative sanction of Rs 480 crore has been accorded for HNSS sub-channel. He has stressed on the need for party adopting different strategies to overcome future challenges. He made an appeal to teachers and employees to extend their cooperation for strengthening the party.
The TDP district chief made it clear that there is no dissidence in the party district unit. He stated that party leaders are ready to discharge their assignments given by central leadership. He praised in-charges of Assembly constituencies for enrolling more members during membership drive. However, he cautioned party leaders not to indulge in anti-party activities. TDP MLAs D K Satyaprabha, Suguna and Sankar, former legislators Kuthuhalamma and Lalitha Thomas, senior party leaders B N Rajasimhulu, P Nani, Shanmugam, Padmavathi and other leaders were present.
However, top party functionaries like ZP Chairperson Girvani, Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, MP Sivaprasad, MLC Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu and former MLA Galla Arunakumari did not attend the general body meeting. The leaders, who spoke in the meeting, have repeatedly praised the leadership of Nara Lokesh while giving priority to Chandrababu Naidu.
