Emotional scenes were witnessed when the accused in the sensational forest officials murder case, joined with their families, after their release from the sub-jail here on Wednesday. Tirupati: Emotional scenes were witnessed when the accused in the sensational forest officials murder case, joined with their families, after their release from the sub-jail here on Wednesday. Following the verdict of the third additional district and session’s judge on Wednesday, all but seven of the 351 accused were released from various sub-jails including at Piler, Srikalahasti and Tirupati where they were lodged after their arrest.

In Tirupati, the family members of the acquitted persons, patiently waited outside the sub-jail located in the court complex, for the release of their beloved ones, by the jail officials after completing the formalities. Many of them were seen hugging and kissing their children immediately after they came out of the sub-jail while their women watching silently with tears welling up in their eyes.

The Tamil Nadu government provided seven buses to transport the released persons to their homes in various districts including Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts. The seven, who were not released, include four juveniles who are in the government observation homes, as the formalities were not completed for their release and three others who were involved in other smuggling cases. Among the three, two are in Piler sub-jail and one in Tirupati sub-jail, according to official sources.
