Youth Congress lashes out at Amit Shah for hoodwinking people of AP

Vijayawada: Youth Congress president Devineni Avinash came down heavily on BJP national president Amit Shah for claiming that Andhra Pradesh has received adequate funds under NDA government for its overall development.

Talking to reporters at Andhra Ratan Bhavan here on Monday, Avinash said that the NDA government, for the second consecutive time, meted out a raw deal in the Union Budget. A meager allocation of Rs 100 crore was sanctioned by the Centre for Polavaram project, which was taken at an estimated cost of Rs 16,000 crore. He questioned the Centre how can it claim that State was witnessing development under NDA government. The BJP leader did not mention anything about the railway zone, special category status and special package to North Andhra and Rayalaseema districts in his speech as it had done nothing so far for the development of the State, he alleged.

Avinash also said that cadre from AP Youth Congress would participate in the ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest on March 12 to prevail on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over special category status to the State. He said that State Youth Congress office would be inaugurated by the APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy on the same day. “We will stage a series of agitations across the State, if the Telugu Desam Government in the State fails to allocate adequate funds for the youth welfare in the budget sessions of Assembly’, he observed.

District Congress Committee (DCC) president Kadiyala Butchi Babu, Youth Congress secretary Kishore and other leaders were present at the news conference.
