Car rams into roadside bench, injures five persons severely

Five people suffered serious injuries when a car rammed into them while they were seated on a roadside bench. The accident took place near Vemuru in Gudlavalleru Mandal of Krishna district on Tuesday.

The five who got injured worked as daily wage labourers and had come to Vemuru to offer prayers at the Kondalamma temple. However, while they sat down on the roadside bench after the temple visit, a car belonging to a reserve police constable rammed into them injuring two men and three women severely. The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Machilipatnam while the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
